Don-0007

Don-0007
:haha: Barrichello gets Massa into hot water A controversy has erupted in Brazil and Germany, as the health of the relationship between Felipe Massa and his Ferrari mentor Michael Schumacher is called into doubt. According to the Brazilian newspaper Lance, Schumacher's former Ferrari team-mate Rubens Barrichello - after a few too many caipirinhas - leapt onto a stage at the Sao Paulo nightclub 'Disco' last Sunday night and began singing. Reportedly, the song consisted of the puerile claim that Schumacher is 'viado' - a derogatory term meaning gay in Brazilian Portuguese. Lance reports that Massa, an open admirer of the seven time world champion and recipient of the Ferrari advisor's guidance, initially disapproved but ultimately joined in the chorus when Barrichello threw his arm around the 2008 championship runner-up. "That Rubens does something like this does not surprise me," Schumacher's long-time manager Willi Weber told Bild newspaper. "But as for Felipe, I am surprised, because the two have a really good understanding with each other and are close friends." A Ferrari spokesman, Schumacher's spokeswoman Sabine Kehm, and Schumacher himself declined to comment. www.f1-live.com
Don-0007

File
Webber has surgery on broken leg Mark WebberMark Webber has undergone surgery on a broken right leg after being involved in a road accident during his charity event in Tasmania earlier today. The Red Bull driver was taking part in one of the cycling elements of the Mark Webber Pure Tasmania Challenge when he collided head-on with a car near Port Arthur just after midday local time. He was airlifted to hospital, with initial reports suggesting he had sustained multiple fractures, but it now appears that the broken right leg is his only serious injury. Event director Geoff Donohue said that the operation was a success and hoped that Webber's recovery would be swift. "The surgery is complete, a pin inserted and the recovery begins," Donohue was quoted as saying by the BBC. "Mark's in good spirits. The broken leg is the injury, and beyond that, he's in really good shape. "He has a little bit of a graze on his left forearm, but he has had full scans and everything else is clear. "He'll be in hospital for at least three days, for sure under a week. I was speaking to him before the operation, and he was already thinking about his rehabilitation. "I suspect that as soon as Mark is able to fly, they will be keen to get him back to Europe. "They will have people working out his rehab programme now with a view to getting him up and going as soon as possible." Webber's annual charity event covers 250 kilometres on mountain bikes, kayaks and via trekking over five days in Tasmania. jedan od meni najdražih vozača i želim mu što brži oporavak i povratak u bolid:yes::yes:

TomiTraktor
Evo sad ce i McLaren osvojiti konstruktorski http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/headlines/news/detail/081217160205.shtml Global PC manufacturer Lenovo and the McLaren Mercedes team have announced a partnership ahead of the 2009 Formula 1 season. Lenovo notebook and desktop PCs will provide the team's computing solutions, both at the race track and at its headquarters. The announcement confirms the cessation of Lenovo's previous sponsorship with the Williams team. Engineers and technology specialists from the Chinese manufacturer have already begun to specify the mobile wireless computing technology required by McLaren Mercedes, as well as desktop computing needs for the pit garage and pit wall battlestations. "Both Vodafone McLaren Mercedes and Lenovo are committed to the competitive advantages from exceptional engineering," said Martin Whitmarsh, the team's CEO Formula One. "We are looking forward to the significant technology contribution that Lenovo will provide through its notebooks and desktop computer solutions." "Vodafone McLaren Mercedes performs at the highest level in Formula 1 and integrates PC technology into every aspect of its car design, development and racing -- as well as its business operations," said Deepak Advani, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Lenovo. "Lenovo has an excellent heritage of computing performance and reliability in complex, high-profile, global events -- such as the Olympic Games -- and we look forward to making a significant contribution to the team." Formula 1 teams have long been pioneering users of high-speed computer technology, using trackside PCs to perform a wide variety of tasks ranging from starting the cars through to the complex analysis of thousands of data points transmitted from the cars to the pits during the races. McLaren Mercedes goes a step further, however, supplying statisticians and engineers back in the UK with real-time race data from anywhere in the world. Such a complex operation provides an excellent platform for showcasing personal computing technologies as the Lenovo corporation aims at strengthening its position in the global marketplace. Guest diablo
New McLaren title-challenger revealed McLaren has launched the car Lewis Hamilton will defend his world championship title with during the 2009 season. The all-new MP4-24 was unveiled to the gathered worldwide media at the team’s Technology Centre in Woking on Friday morning, the third car for the new season to break cover so far. Like both Ferrari and Toyota’s interpretation of the new rules, the MP4-23 incorpates the new-style front and rear wings, clean bodywork surfaces and slick tyres while it continues the trend for tight sculpting around the rear of the car. McLaren test driver Pedro de la Rosa will shake down the car for the first time at the Algarve Motor Park in Portugal on Saturday ahead of a first full test at the new venue next week. Speaking as he and team-mate Heikki Kovalainen pulled the wraps off the MP4-24, world champion Hamilton said: "It is actually the first time I have seen car and think it looks beautiful. "The team always manages to put together a stunning car." Hamilton, who turned 24 earlier this month, starts his third F1 season looking to maintain the unparalleled success he has enjoyed during his first two years. After missing out on the title by a single point in his rookie 2007 season, the Briton became the sport’s youngest champion last year by the skin of his teeth following a nail-biting finale in Brazil. Hamilton insists his title success will not mean he changes his attacking approach to driving in 2009 and instead said McLaren was aiming to cut out both individual and team errors to give it the best chance of claiming its first double drivers' and constructors' success for 11 years. "I don’t think it particularly changes too much," Lewis said of racing as world champion. "Going into this third season I've had to rest my targets back to where I started in 2007. "We want to win both titles and obviously we can improve on the mistakes we made last year, both individually and as a team "We want to win, that’s what we are here for and we’re do the best job we can." The Briton is again joined in the team’s line-up by Kovalainen, who starts his second season at McLaren aiming on improve on the form which saw him score just three podium finishes in 2008. Kovalainen believes he is in a better position to enjoy a stronger year two on the back of his experiences last campaign and a productive winter schedule. "Overall I learnt a lot last year, there are lot of positives which can take into this year," he said. "As soon as year was finished I started to work towards this season to prepare better. "I know everybody here now it and it is a much more stable place to start the season "I am looking forward to the season and hopefully we can have better year and myself as well." Team stalwarts de la Rosa and Gary Paffett remain as McLaren's test drivers for another year.
File
Dennis to step down as team principal McLaren boss Ron Dennis will step down from his role of team principal before the start of the 2009 season, the Briton announced on Friday. The 61-year-old, however, made it clear that he is not retiring, but will instead focus on other commitments related to the McLaren Group. Dennis said he would still attend some races, but intends to pass on his team principal responsibilities to Martin Whitmarsh as of March 1 this year. "First thing I am going to do is work harder, that is the first target," said Dennis during the launch of the new McLaren. "I intend to raise my own game because I think everybody in our organisation at every level realises this is a tough period in which we are going to work and of course we are a very diverse organisation now. "We have a clear intention for our production car programme which is really a challenge. Any product we bring to the market will certainly fall the other side of this financial period. "I stress nothing to get too excited about but it is absolutely time for Martin to take over as team principal. As from March 1 he will adopt that responsibility. I will still go to races, not all of them, because I am passionate. "I intend to work harder and will take on greater responsibility in the group. I will be full executive chairman. It is time and I have to say it is absolutely 100 percent my decision. It is what I want to do, but I do intend to work much harder. "Don't see it as some sort of retirement, I want to work harder in other areas and having to plan those tasks around the GP calendar is disruptive to the process. It is a job that Martin will embrace and enjoy. "It is a job over the years we have shared anyway, but it will be his decision to influence things at a grand prix circuit." Guest diablo
Ferrari's newly launched F60 challenger is 'illegal' according to Auto Motor und Sport. The car, revealed last week at the Mugello circuit in Italy, features rear exhaust outlets that reportedly contravene the sweeping new technical regulations. The magazine said some of the Italian team's rivals have noted that because of the new rules cracking down on bodywork appendages like aerodynamic winglets, exposing the exhausts in the way the F60 is designed is not allowed. A glance at the other new cars revealed so far - the Renault, Williams, McLaren and Toyota - shows that their exhausts have all been mounted in-board. Auto Motor und Sport said it should not be too much of a problem for Ferrari to redesign the exhaust housing, but it may help to explain the team's retreat from the Portimao group test this week to Mugello. Officially, Ferrari decamped to Mugello because of adverse weather forecasts for this week, but the magazine said the F60 also showed a significant problem with its front wing when tested last week. It is suggested that, in light of these challenges, Ferrari concluded that it should be conducting the car's first major test as close as possible to its Maranello base. :whistling::whistling::whistling::whistling:

brba
